The Power of a Coherent Heart
I'm so excited to share a recent experience...
Many of you have heard me talk about the Heart Resonance in classes.
The heart vibration is your essence.
It is your uniqueness. Your Soul’s signature.
No one has the same heart vibration as you do. No one loves exactly as you do.
Society celebrates our logical minds: thinking, analyzing, considering.
When we bring our awareness to the heart, we can feel our thoughts rather than thinking them. The heart is vibrating in the present moment, experiencing and feeling “What is” in this Now moment.
In the Gaia TV series “Rewired”, Joe Dispenza discusses the importance of Heart Coherence (episode 12).
Coherence is achieved when vibrations are organized and unified.
Consider two wave functions; when the waves are out of alignment (incoherent), they dampen each other and cancel each other out. When the waves are aligned (coherent), they magnify and enhance each other.
A coherent heart magnifies your vibration of love! A coherent heart enhances your essence and ripples your unique vibration of Love outward, inspiring more people with your kindness. Heart Coherence is a magical super power!
I was driving by myself for 15 minutes, considering the “Rewired” episode. I wondered if I was in heart coherence.
What is heart coherence?
What does it feel like?
If it is so powerful, how can I cultivate heart coherence?
I shifted my awareness to my heart, feeling for my unique vibration.
Is this the vibration of love? What do I love in this moment?
And just like that, I was drawn into a spontaneous gratitude practice!
I found myself looking around outside of my car, identifying “What is”. I started to focus on feeling love for everything I saw.
The commentary in my head started without emotion, but quickly morphed into more feeling:
“I love you motorcycle.”
“I love you white car.”
“I love you bird in the sky. Ha! He is so playful, frolicking through the air.”
“I love you leaves on the tree.” I noticed the thousands of leaves and their beauty. Why have I never noticed individual leaves while driving?
“I love you blades of grass.” The breeze was animating the grass to appear to be dancing!
“I love you traffic sign.” I could feel the love of humanity, caring about my safety and providing this order to our lives.
"I love you fellow humans, for following the traffic signs and making these roads safe."
“I love you woman on your bike.” I could feel that she loved her body and was taking care of it through exercise.
“I love you man on your bike.” I could see that he was intense, trying to get somewhere fast. “I love that you care so much about getting there on time.”
“I love you red light.” Thank you for the pause from the rush.
While focusing on my heart, I rattled off love notes toward everything I saw. I was looking for more to see, and engaged in the present moment with “What is”.
And then something amazing started to happen. I began to yawn and my eyes welled up. As I expressed gratitude, tears began to leak out of my eyes. Then tears began to erupt and stream down my cheeks. By the time I reached my destination, I had to wipe my face dry.
What was happening in my body? Why the tears? What does all of this mean?
Stepping out of Fight or Flight: When we open our eyes and look at our surroundings, it is known to calm the nervous systems. If you can see there are no tigers chasing you, the fight or flight response is released and you can step into a space of growth and renewal.
Deep breaths: Yawning is a method of resetting the nervous system through breath. When we fill our lungs with oxygen and provide fuel for our cells, the body processes what it is holding and reignites the life force energy.
Processing: In energy medicine, yawning and tears often reflect the movement of energy as it processes. I was likely processing trapped emotions.
It was such a beautiful experience, that I decided to try it again.
On the drive home, I diligently began my gratitude practice, giving thanks and love to some of the same sights. “I love you cars.” “I love you bikes.” “I love you trees.”
And…nothing happened. Over the course of 5 minutes, not a single yawn or tear. The gratitude practice felt a little robotic.
And then I remembered my heart. The entire point of this exercise was to experience heart coherence. I wanted to send heart vibrations outward, rippling my essence to interact with everything around me.
I shifted my awareness to my heart and returned to the gratitude practice. And the magic returned instantly. Within 2 gratitudes, I began to yawn and tear up. By the time I arrived at home, my face was sopping wet, yet again.
Wow. What a difference it made to focus on the heart.
There is something powerful happening at the heart.
A power to feel. A power to connect. A power to love. A power to heal.
The heart is meant to be in charge of our interactions with the world. Rather than using our intellect to engage the world with robotic logic and plans, we are asked to allow the heart to lead the way.
I am starting to focus on my heart more.
In the middle of conversations with family, friends, grocery store attendants…I am shifting my focus from the brain (thoughts, judgments, what to say next) to the vibration at my heart.
This subtle shift is softening my words, adding levity to situations, and improving connection. It’s awakening lightness and joy in interactions.
I welcome you to play with this as well. Bring your awareness to your heart vibration, and see what happens!
You may not yawn or cry, but instead experience a different reaction when connecting with the world through your heart.
